Rise of the Turnips...Over the past few months I have been working towards my next solo show.... "Wonderfully Weird II - Rise of the Turnips".
Building on the ideas and success of the first Wonderfully Weird exhibition I'm hoping to deliver a much bigger and better experience. The majority of the paintings will be focused on the lives of my tv watching, ipod listening vegetating/zombie turnip characters (in essence a kind of mirror to our own society).
Like my previous exhibition there will also be plenty of magnificent beasties and macabre creatures to complement the turnip paintings.
Expect plenty of humour, weirdness and fun! Just what the doctor ordered! **UPDATE** OFFICIAL FLYER RELEASED!
Rise of the Turnips will run from 2nd - 20th March 2010, at the Satellite Gallery in Newton. Press release and more info here.
 A Portrait of a Martian Turnip, Oil on Linen, 9 x 12"
Pictured here is Lost at Sea, Oil on Canvas. The painting features a turnip on top of a television floating out at sea. He holds on tight to his lil' bear, whilst a young woodpecker peaks out of his hollow head to assess the situation... >>STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO! |
